Ebony
I've always loved locs and makeup. My very first set of locs, my mother installed for me when I was 9 years old. Ever since then, locs have always been my first love. Throughout the years, my hair has changed many times, from perms, to braids, to wigs. Then finally one day I did the big chop, and transitioned back to locs. Through out this time I have been passionate about helping others transition to what makes them feel beautiful. Whats even better is that, I can do any hair texture, from the straightest hair texture, to finer textures, to kinkier textures. I am very diverse with any racial or ethnic makeup. I specialize in Instantlocs (permanent human hair loc extensions, loc repair for thinning locs, clients that deal with scalp trauma or alopecia (undetectable bridges are created), loc styles, and loc maintenance. Makeup is also a strong passion for me. I specialize in traditional makeup, bridal makeup, African makeup, and tribal makeup. Overall, I am a licensed esthetician, loctician and natural hair stylist.

Franchesca
Franchesca’s emergence into hair care grew from a labour divide she noticed between Black communities. Growing up on the Eastside of Detroit to a blended Black American & Afro-Caribbean family she witnessed the routine of Black American men look to Black Woman to maintain all the hair care needs for the entire family. While as a young girl her experience was quite the opposite as she would sit still for her Haitian father while he would comb, twist, and braid her hair. As she grew older and bounced from salon chairs by hand of her mother an independent business owner, no other stylist seemed to keep her just as still in their chairs. As a young adult woman she took independence with her hair care moving away from the shop chairs where she would get the traditional press and curl and began to embrace her natural hair texture. For over 10 years now Franchesca has maintained a curly afro made up of many textures, colors, and cultures. As a growing woman she developed romantic relationships with Black Men and soon after she routined into the same role of an in home hair care labourer for locs, twist, braids, and afros. With flashbacks of her Haitian father styling her hair as a young girl Franchesca grew inspired to shake up the routined culture. She began to have discussions with men on self reliance and determination, through the education of personal hair care and maintenance. Now she is happy to be apart of a nucleus of transformative Black Men and Black Woman who hold and teach each other through patient lessons of self sustainability. In her chair clients experience an awareness of self and develop relationships that define what it means to have an accountable community.

Kes
Kes learned to braid growing up as a young child on Detroit’s east side. Born to Nigerian immigrant parents, braided hair styles were the norm in her community. As she became an adolescent and had the desire to wear more complex braided styles that were in alignment with the trends, she taught herself and learned from family members the techniques of braiding with extensions, installing sew-ins and two strand twist extensions; always learning by styling her own hair and the people in her community.
She began doing loc maintenance along with braiding and natural hairstyling while attending Wayne State University where she met Nefertiti at Textures by Nefertiti. Since then, Kes has been taking clients under Nefertiti’s guidance and mentorship.”
